Well, it has been a hot minute since I have written anything, and I will tell you why. Things in my world have been busy, busy, busy! We got home from our trip, and I got everything put away and the RV cleaned up and moved over to storage. Then I got reacquainted with my home and got caught up with family and friends.
The most exciting thing I have been doing though is helping my middle Daughter Caysea, with something that she has been working on for almost 2 years now, and now that she has been getting ready to wrap it up she asked me to help her. But more about that in a minute. First, I want to tell you about this girl of mine.
Caysea came into the world in 1998, and she has kept me on my toes ever since. I have always called her my little spitball of fire. From the moment she could talk, you could tell she was quick-witted and had a quirky sense of humor. She was particularly good with words and did almost all the talking for her older sister and her little brother. And boy oh boy did she have an imagination!
As she grew older, she was quite the little athlete, she loved gymnastics and taekwondo, however when we moved to the little town of Lusk those things weren’t available to her, but she discovered basketball and she played on a travel team that did well and I think it also gave her the confidence that she needed at the time. During this time, she also started to show exceptional writing skills, writing short stories and such.
During high school like some girls do she had some struggles, but she always seemed to overcome them, and she was growing up to be a headstrong young woman. She wasn’t as into basketball as we thought she would be, but she loved to work and make money, she held down a job at the local grocery store and worked at The Pizza Place and she was on the golf team which gave her the love of a game which she will be able to play for the rest of her life. Also, high school gave her an English teacher who believed in her, inspired her, and encouraged her.
Caysea thought about going to college but really wasn’t sure she was ready for that so after long talks with her Dad and me, she decided to wait, she left home and went to live with her sister in Laramie, and for about a year and then came back home to work while her brother completed his senior and so she could spend time with him before he went off to the Army, it was during this time that she made a decision to become a Barber and she enrolled in Barber School.
At Barber School, she met the love of her life and in 2020 she was married to Scott, and they now own a Barber Shop. He loves, respects, and supports her in all her endeavors and has helped her grow into the woman she is today.
I know you probably want me to get to the point and fill you in on this thing she has been working on. Well, Caysea wrote a book! I am so excited and so proud of her! She has worked long and hard on this book. I have been honored to help her with editing and other mom duties and that my friends is why I have been a little slow with my blogs. So, my Friends if you like Fictional Romance, mixed in with a little suspense, and if you happen to be a fan of Greek Mythology, check out Caysea’s book “Left by Light” available May 4th on Amazon Kindle!
